While Facebook has paved the way for family reunions and renewed friendships, the social networking giant has also been the backdrop for infidelity and the most heinous crimes.
One Christian congregation is fed up with the worldly shenanigans and decided to tell the devil that he is a lie.
In a song described on YouTube as “a new Christian classic about the pitfalls of hubris and lack of discretion in today’s social media world,” the “saints” in the church tackle the hypocrisy that runs rampant in the pews and on Facebook, telling members to: “Keep yo business off of Facebook.”
With drums, tambourines, an organ and a male singer who appears to be the pastor going all the way in, the congregation sways, claps and testifies to the realest hymn you’ll probably ever hear:
You need to keep yo business off of Facebook/ You need to keep yo business of a Facebook/ The things that you say, your neighbor gonna find out about ‘em anyway/ You need to keep yo business off of Facebook/ Keep yo business off a Facebook/You need to keep yo business off a Facebook/The pictures that you post, you need to quit it cause you doin’ the most/ You need to keep yo business off of Facebook/ I like this one/ Keep yo business off of Facebook/ You need to keep yo business off of Facebook/ Some days you act like a saint, but your Facebook post say you ain’t/ You need to keep yo business off a Facebook
Although the hilarious video was posted on July 12, it has just begun to go viral.
