Adele to Star in New Action Film

Adele has been laying on the down low since winning an Oscar for her theme to the James Bond flick Skyfall in February, but rumor has it that the British singer may return to silver screen, and this time in front of cameras.

Adele is said to be joining the cast of The Secret Service as one of the flick's villains, reports EntertainmentWise. The film stars Samuel L. Jackson and Colin Firth and is based on the graphic novel by Mark Millar, who also penned the Kick-Ass series. The action flick will be directed by Matthew Vaughn (Kick-Ass, Stardust), who is said to be looking into big name talent for the film.

According to a source, “Adele is exactly what Matthew Vaughn is looking for… He wants the highest-profile names in various fields to boost the film’s cause and turn it into a mega-money franchise.”

Adele has appeared in front of cameras before. In 2009 she had a brief a cameo on the ABC sitcom Ugly Betty.

Production for The Secret Service is set to start early next year. Other stars being tempted for roles include Sir Elton John and David Beckham.
