Lee Thompson Young Suicide Update: Twitter Reactions To Devastating Death Of 29-Year-Old 'Jett Jackson' Star (VIDEO)



Lee Thompson Young, The Famous Jett Jackson star, reportedly committed suicide in his Los Angeles apartment on Monday. Young was 29 years old.

Los Angeles police found Young’s body at 8 a.m., and his manager released a statement regarding his death shortly thereafter. "It is with great sadness that I announce that Lee Thompson Young tragically took his own life this morning," Jonathan Baruch said. "Lee was more than just a brilliant young actor, he was a wonderful and gentle soul who will be truly missed," Baruch continued. "We ask that you please respect the privacy of his family and friends as this very difficult time."

Young was best known for his role in The Famous Jett Jackson, which aired from 1998 to 2001. After rising to fame on the Disney Channel, Young also starred in major blockbuster films like Friday Night Lights, in addition to television shows such as Scrubs and Smallville.

Fellow stars and fans took to Twitter to express their sadness over Young’s death. “RIP Lee Thompson Young. So so sad,” Glee star Grant Gustin wrote.

"I freaking loved Jett Jackson/Lee Thompson Young," @amberskyez tweeted. "He was my first crush. uuuugh i can't take this .... I didn't even know him, but that hurt."

"RIP Lee Thompson Young you always put a smile on face and you will never be forgotten thank you. #RIP #tooyoung," @Breezyx94 said.

"OMG!" @devinjaielle wrote. "My condolences to the family of Lee Thompson Young...especially his mom."
