MOVIE: Jolie back with Unbroken

Angelina Jolie has been pictured on set for the first time since announcing her double mastectomy.

The 38-year-old actress, who underwent the preventative procedure earlier this year, appeared on the Los Angeles set of Unbroken in photos published by MailOnline and E! News on Sunday.

Angelina is directing the feature, written by the Coen Brothers, about the life of Olympic runner Louis Zamperini, who became a POW during World War II.

The actress-turned-director was pictured wearing a white blouse, black pencil skirt and nude heels as she juggled a handbag and materials.

The appearance comes three months after Angelina revealed that she underwent a preventative double mastectomy after learning she carried a BRCA1 gene mutation, significantly increasing her chances of developing breast cancer.

The actress, who shares six children with fiancé Brad Pitt, touched on her family's heart-breaking struggle with the disease in the article.

"My chances of developing breast cancer have dropped from 87 percent to under five percent as a result of the February procedure," Angelina wrote.

"I can tell my children they don't need to fear they will lose me to breast cancer."

Angelina made her directorial debut with 2007 documentary A Place in Time.

Unbroken is scheduled for release in December 2014.
