The multiplicity of genres in this category – from Dance Pop to contemporary Afrobeat and Afro-fusion – provide a brilliant glimpse into the diversity of sounds that currently define Africa’s music scene.

27-Year-Old Stowaway Arrested At The Benin Airport...Perhaps Inspired By The Scholarship Promised Daniel

Less than two weeks after a 13-year-old Daniel Ricky Oikhana, beat security at the Benin Airport to stow away in the tyre compartment of an Arik Airline aircraft, an attempt by a 27-year-old man Leroy Ugaga  was Monday afternoon foiled by security operatives at the same airport... Perhaps inspired by the scholarship promised Daniel.

Ugaga was said to have been arrested lying with his belly close to the run way with an intent of illegally boarding an Abuja-bound Arik Air flight.

However, the Benin City Airport Manager, Ayodele Sunday, could not be reached as calls put across to his phone were unanswered.
But confirming the incident, the Chief Security Officer of the airport, Mr. Adeboye Festus, said the suspect had confessed to the crime.
Responding to questions from journalists, the suspect said he was a psychiatric patient and was tired of life; hence he wanted to travel to Abuja.
However, General Manager, Corporate Communication, FAAN Yakubu Dati, explained that the trespasser was sighted and observed for a few minutes by members of the patrol team as he tried to gain entry to the airside and as soon as his intentions became clear, he was quickly apprehended and handed over to the police for further interrogation.
“A joint perimeter patrol by FAAN’s security staff and men of Air Force at the Benin Airport is one of the additional security measures taken by the FAAN to forestall runway incursions at all Nigerian airports, following the stowaway incident that occurred at the Benin Airport on August 24.
“FAAN hereby appeals to all members of the public, especially youths, to avoid the risk of attempting to gain unauthorised entry into restricted areas of the airports, across the country, as doing so is now extremely dangerous. Trespassers are likely to be severely dealt with if the security patrols have cause to suspect violent intentions,” Dati said.

Abdi Guyo, a retired Kenyan soldier, said he fathered Dillish when he was part of the Kenyan contingent peacekeeping force of the United Nations Transition Assistance Group (UNTAG), deployed from April 1989 to March 1990 in Namibia to monitor the peace process and the first elections.

Microsoft Pays $7.2B To Buy Nokia’s Devices And Services Business And License Its Patents

In a surprise move, Microsoft announced Monday evening that it has inked a deal with Nokia to acquire “substantially all of Nokia’s Devices & Services business, license Nokia’s patents, and license and use Nokia’s mapping services.”

The total price of the deal is EUR 5.44 billion in cash, which is currently worth $7.17 billion in U.S. dollars. The Devices and Services business acquisition accounts for EUR 3.79 billion of that, with the patent licensing deal making up the remaining EUR 1.65 billion.

Nokia and Microsoft inked a partnership back in 2011, but this is clearly a much more serious collaboration of the two companies.

Also as part of the deal, Nokia’s CEO Stephen Elop will be stepping aside as Nokia President and CEO to fill a new role at Microsoft as “Nokia Executive Vice President of Devices & Services.” Being that Elop has emerged as a leading rumored contender for the soon-to-be-vacant spot at the helm of Microsoft, this could be a strong signal about the future of Microsoft’s executive leadership.

In a press release announcing the news, Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer said the following:

“It’s a bold step into the future – a win-win for employees, shareholders and consumers of both companies. Bringing these great teams together will accelerate Microsoft’s share and profits in phones, and strengthen the overall opportunities for both Microsoft and our partners across our entire family of devices and services. In addition to their innovation and strength in phones at all price points, Nokia brings proven capability and talent in critical areas such as hardware design and engineering, supply chain and manufacturing management, and hardware sales, marketing and distribution.”

Although this seems like the end of Nokia as we know it, it sounds like for now the company is still planning on moving forward as a standalone entity of some sort — although with a very different strategy. Risto Siilasmaa, Nokia’s board chairman and current interim CEO following the departure of Elop, was quoted in a press release as saying “this is an important moment of reinvention and from a position of financial strength, we can build our next chapter… the deal offers future opportunities for many Nokia employees as part of a company with the strategy, financial resources and determination to succeed in the mobile space.”

Amazing Feat: Diana Nyad completes historic Cuba-to-Florida swim [VIDEO]

Endurance swimmer Diana Nyad reached the shores of Key West on Monday afternoon, becoming the first person to swim Cuba to Florida without a shark cage. This was the 64-year-old's fifth attempt since 1978.

(CNN) -- After more than 52 hours of swimming, the Key West shore -- and a decades-old goal -- is in sight for Diana Nyad.

Nyad, 64, on her fifth attempt to swim the 103 miles from Cuba to Florida without a protective cage or flippers, was taking the final strokes toward shore at 1:50 p.m. ET.

Dozens of onlookers -- some in kayaks and boats, others wading in the water or standing on shore -- cheered her on as she wrapped up the swim.

This is the farthest she or anyone else has gone without a shark cage, and the wear on her body was showing Monday morning.

RELATIONSHIP: 7 Signs That You’re In A Good Relationship

 1. YOU CAN DO THINGS SEPARATELY

This may seem a little weird but it’s true, doing things separately and not having a problem with it is a sign you’re in a relationship and it’s a healthy one. If you completely depend on each other to do everything, then your relationship can quickly become a little (or a lot) co-dependent. Take a step back! It’s okay for you to go out with your friends without him, and it’s okay for him to go out with his friends without you!

2. YOU DON’T PUT EACH OTHER DOWN

This shouldn’t be a surprise but if you’re in a healthy relationship you shouldn’t always feel the need to put down your significant other. That’s not to say you can’t make funny comments about how bad they are at ping pong but don’t nit-pick and put your honey down over everything that they do!

3. YOU TRUST EACH OTHER

Trust is a big part of any relationship but it’s VERY important that you ACTUALLY trust the person that you’re with. In any relationship that you get into you’re looking for someone to spend your time (or life) with. So, you have to trust that that person isn’t going to let you down or hurt you. If you don’t trust the person you’re with, you’ll wind up having a lot of fights and feeling very insecure, the opposite of how you should feel in a healthy relationship!

4. YOU BOTH FEEL EACH OF YOU IS DOING ENOUGH

Feeling like you’re carrying your whole relationship by yourself and that your partner isn’t doing enough it can create a lot of friction. It’s important that both you and your partner feel like the work load (or financial load if you’re at that point) is split evenly between the two of you.

5. YOUR RELATIONSHIP WORKS OUTSIDE OF THE BEDROOM

In a serious relationship sex usually comes into play. But, it’s very important that sex isn’t the only thing that works in your relationship (if you want something more serious). The best way to avoid this is to make sure that both you and the person that you are with know what exactly you want and where your relationship is going.

6. YOU DON’T RUSH MILESTONES

This one can be tough for anyone, when you feel like you love somebody you want to start a life with them and you tend to rush things a little bit. But try really hard to pump the brakes and don’t rush the milestones! If your relationship is healthy things will reach that point naturally. You don’t need to rush moving in together or getting married or having children. Let things flow more organically!

7. YOU CAN TALK ABOUT ANYTHING

And I do mean anything! Your significant other doesn’t always want to hear about your ex but, if you need to talk about your last relationship you should be able to. There shouldn’t be anything too taboo about you or the person you’re with to talk about.
Well ladies these are the signs that your relationship is a healthy one. What do you think makes a relationship healthy? Let me know down below!
