Fergie of the Black Eyed Peas Gives Birth to a Boy!

Congrats to the Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie and hubby, actor Josh Duhamel. The couple welcomed its first child, son Axl Jack Duhamel, via a scheduled C-section in Los Angeles today, Aug. 29.

Little Axl weighed in at 7 lbs., 10 oz. A rep confirmed his birth.

What a rock ‘n’ roll name, right? With those genes, though, he has to be a looker. He has incredibly attractive parents. So he’ll be a looker with a cool name.

Fergie, 38, and Duhamel, 40, confirmed that they were having a boy, but would not reveal his name in advance.

Earlier this week, Fergie and Duhamel visited Cesar Millan aka the Dog Whisperer, to make sure that their female pooch would be properly prepared and well-behaved upon meeting her new brother. Since she will no longer be the only “baby” in the house, the duo smartly made provisions for a smooth transition for when the fur baby meets the human baby.

Lagos Ranked 4th Worst City In The World

According to Economist Intelligence Unit, EIU, an independent forecasting and advisory business within the Economist Group, Lagos is the fourth worst city in the world.

And its top worst cities, are scattered around Africa and Asia. 

Lagos, the fourth on the list, shares its 137 position with Port Moresby, in Papua New Guinea on 38.9 percent.

The report made available yesterday described Lagos as the second-fastest growing city in Africa and the fourth worst city on earth.

“Rapid growth is not always a good thing because Lagos is now a magnet for two perpetual threats to peace: pirates and Islamist warriors.Boko Haram have a problem with cities like Lagos and also lots of weaponry. Pirates threaten trade and use kidnapping as a method of funding. Islamist terrorist groups such as Boko Haram (“Education is forbidden”) want to create their own version of heaven on earth by destroying cities such as Lagos and imposing strict sharia law. Lagos has enormous potential but as yet little to show for it – hence its poor ranking,” the report said.

EIU in its 2013 annual survey of the world’s 140 major metropolises, said Lagos has a long way to go politically, socially and economically before it joins the emerging market club.

Jealous 19 year old OSPOLY student bathes boyfriend with hot water

A 19 year old female student of Science Laboratory Technology (SLT) Department of Osun State Polytechnic (OSPOLY) has been arrested for allegedly pouring hot water on her boyfriend shortly after his birthday at Miracle Hall, BHS area in Iree last Saturday.

According to a report by Daily Trust, the attacker Yetunde poured the hot water on Niyi Adelana (pictured above) because he invited other girls to his party and flirted with them right in front of her

Niyi, a Higher National Diploma (HND) II student of Computer Science, suffered serious burns and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

The Police Public Relations Officer for Osun State, DSP Folasade Odoro, confirmed the incident in a chat with Daily Trust. She said investigation was still going on and that upon completion, the girl would be charged to court.

Star magazine (via Bossip) reports that Mariah Carey is upset with Island Def Jam executives for not investing as much time in her career as they are Kanye West. She accused the label of catering to his "self-centered, misogynistic" ego and musical style.

A source said: "Mariah threw a temper tantrum and accused execs at Island Def Jam of not making the same investment in her as they do in Kanye.
