Sisqó Plots Comeback

Here’s a name we haven’t heard in a while: Sisqó.

The silver haired, dancing member of Dru Hill is ready to get back to music with a solo comeback.

Yes, that’s right, the “Thong Song” hit maker is ready to take on these new kids on the block and give the world what they really need, a “G-String Song.”

Not really, but he’s excited about coming back.

“I’ve been working on the album for a minute but the timing just wasn’t right to come out. Last year was the year of the dragon. That would have been perfect but it still wasn’t the right time. There was too much going on for when we were trying to drop. In the music industry you have to catch the right quarter. It’s like double dutch,” Sisqó said in an interview with Soul Culture.

He attempted to stay relevant when he released his sophomore album, “Return of the Dragon” in 2002. But that didn’t go over very well. On top of that, he and Usher got into it around that time. So, then he kind of fell off and was forgotten about. Sad, but true.

That’s all in the past. Let’s focus on the present and his potential return with the release of a new single.

“A lot of the time people say my music is ahead of its time. My album is compiled of a lot of music that I started working on three years ago and it’s relevant now. The whole techno thing – I started experimenting with that three years ago. It wasn’t even really that mainstream popular. Now everybody’s doing it,” he explained.

He’s been working hard, he said, recording this album over the last three years. Give him a break… the man is trying. Things are rough out there for a struggling dragon.

In the meantime, he’s been busy performing with his group, Dru Hill.
